World of Warcraft Movie Gets New Writer

A few weeks back at Comic-Con, director Sam Raimi said that he was no longer going to be directing Legendary’s movie adaptation of World of Worldcraft. Since then, we haven’t heard anything about the company looking for a new director. But they have been looking for a new screenwriter, I guess, because they found one.

Charles Leavitt, writer of Blood Diamond and the upcoming The Seventh Son, also from Legendary, has been brought on to pen another draft of the script. Legendary has “sparked” to Leavitt’s take on the WoW movie, so the film could be getting some steam behind it over the next few months. They could even get a new director.
