Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog will be reaching a wider audience this fall. On October 9th starting at 9pm the musical will make its television debut at the hands of The CW.
For those unfamiliar with the film, Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog was created during the writer’s guild strike with the intention of proving the writers weren’t as all important as they thought. Joss Whedon (Writer/Director of many awesome things) created a script including 14 original songs. He got a cast and crew to work for the low wage of nothing. What was born was one of the greatest musicals of all time. Originally released on iTunes, the movie was so popular that on the day of its release iTunes crashed due to massive levels of traffic. The movie was later released on DVD. These high sales allowed him to pay the cast and crew.
This television airing will hopefully expose a larger audience to this amazing movie an even create some more die hard fans.
