It was announced on Sunday that Sou Sagara’s series of light novels, The Hentai Prince and the Stony Cat (Hentai Ōji to Warawanai Neko), would be getting made into an anime series.
The novels follow Yoto Yokodera, a second year high school student who is, strictly speaking, a normal boy with healthy desires for his age and hormone levels. For whatever reason, he wants others to acknowledge him as the pervert that he is at heart. Through various unsubstantiated rumours, he learns of a shrine to a cat god that will grant wishes (a ridiculous proposition, I assure you). Nevertheless, he goes to the statue and prays that he will be able to express himself more openly, but he is not alone; while praying, he meets Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi, a girl from his school that wishes that she wouldn’t display her feelings so openly.
Sagara began the series last year, and is on the verge of publishing the sixth volume of the novels. Okomeken is providing art for the manga adaptation of the story, currently in its second volume.
