Steam Goes Mobile

Say goodbye to your money folks, ’cause Steam is coming to mobile devices.

Yesterday Valve announced that a free-to-download app will be coming to all iOS and Android powered devices. This app will let you do all things that you can do with Steam proper. You can check your friends list and chat with whoever is online, browse the huge catalog of games Steam currently and buy any game from that catalog anywhere, anytime. Missed out on a sale because you were out doing something unimportant like working? Well you will never miss that sale again because Steam will be in your pocket, seducing the money right out of your wallet.

Currently the app is in closed beta. According to the press release:

“Those who wish to join the beta just need to download the Steam app (free of charge) and log in to their Steam account via the mobile app to express interest in the beta. Gamers will be added to the Closed Beta as the service ramps up.”
