One of the biggest complaints about this year’s Godzilla reboot is the lack of other interesting monsters. The MUTOs weren’t all that cool, and they were just kind of boring. But it looks like the sequel won’t have that problem as some of the classic Toho monsters are making a comeback.
Legendary announced during their panel at Comic-Con that because of the success of Godzilla, Toho has given them access Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah for the sequel. Gareth Edwards will be returning to direct the new movie, but he wasn’t at the panel because he was in London working on his Star Wars spinoff.
Godzilla 2, or whatever it ends up being called, is set for release on December 16th, 2016.
