In 2003, a bizarre troll creature of unknown origin who called itself Tommy Wiseau made a movie called The Room. We watched it. It was terrible. It was one of the worst pieces of shit I’ve ever seen in my entire life. But, because people like stupid shit, The Room became a cult classic and people started loving it. So co-star Greg Sestero and Tom Bissell wrote a book. And now that book is being made into a movie. And James Franco is in it.
Franco will be starring as Wiseau and directing the movie based on The Disaster Artist, the book that describes Sestero’s relationship with Wiseau and the troubled development of the film.
For those who don’t know, The Room is about a bizarre troll creature of unknown origin who called itself Johnny as his life starts to unravel when his girlfriend starts cheating on him with his best friend. It’s god awful.
Why is this happening? Why is The Room a thing? Why do people like this crap? Why why why why why? But James Franco might make it at least interesting.
No word on a release date or other casting has been given.
